Fares -
If you are making a reservation via this information
reservation system, the following fares are available -
1.
Individual Fares - a.
Standard Fare - (For sale within and outside New Zealand)
This fare is available to all passengers whether you are a New Zealand
resident or if you reside outside New Zealand. b.
Web Fare -
This is an 'Advance' purchase fare and is subject to availability at the time
of a reservation being made.
c.
Backpacker/YHA/VIP/NOMAD Fares -
This is an 'Advance' purchase fare and is subject to availability at the of a
reservation being made.
Identification may be required required. d.
Senior Citizens Fare -
This is an 'Advance' purchase fare for people over 60 years old and is subject
to availability at the time of a reservation being made. e.
Student Fares -
This is an 'Advance' purchase fare and is subject to availability at the time
of a reservation being made.
Identification may be required. f.
Day Excursion Fares -
This is an 'Advance' purchase fare with a 25% discount of the 'Standard' fare
and is subject to availability at the time of a reservation being made. 2.
Group Fares -
Group fares available to any group travel from within New Zealand or from
overseas.
3. Day Excursion Fares -
* Return fare conditions and booking conditions apply
* Both legs of the return journey must be booked
together and ticketed together on a single
booking prior to departing on the first leg.
* The same fare category must be used for both legs of
the journey.
* Family Fares are available for family travel where
the vehicle and passengers are ticketed
and sail together. It is valid for children 14
years or under, from the same family,
accompanying one or both parents.
4. Fare Notes -
* All fares are subject to availability
* Only Standard or International fares are available or
transferable on the day of travel.
* All fares are non-refundable and non-transferable after
time of check in.
* All fares, services and facilities are subject to change
without notice.
* All return fares are non-refundable after the time of check
in of the first leg.
A child is 2-14yrs and is 60% of
adult.
All fares are subject to
availability until a reservations has been confirmed and paid for.

Reservations -
All passengers
travelling on any Tranz Scenic rail service must have a reservation.
Any
reservation submitted unless less than 7 Days prior to travel date - payment
must by a Visa/Mastercard credit/checking card (Not Visa Electron Card), Diners
Club Credit Card, American Express Credit Card, Cheque (New Zealand only) or Internet Banking (New
Zealand only).
All
prices quoted are in New Zealand dollars and include Goods and Service tax. All
fares are subject to availability and may be changed without notice.
Overseas Travel Agents, your
Client is booked on the International Fare and standard Travel Agent's
commission is paid.

Payment
-
When
you make a reservation, a payment due date will be advised on your email
confirmation. If payment has not been advised by that date your
reservation will be cancelled.
All payments are to be by
a credit card - Visa (Not Visa Electron Card), Mastercard, Bankcard, Diners Club and Amercian Express.
Payment can be by either cheque
or Internet Banking, as long as the bank is located in New Zealand and has
inter-bank transaction facility.
Payment by
Internet banking must be paid not less than 36 hours prior to travel date.
If payment is by
Internet Banking, please allow over night processing, unless your are an ASB
Bank customer.
For
New Zealand residents only - Payment can be also by a cheque
drawn on a New Zealand Bank or by Internet Banking.
If payment is
by a credit card and if you dispute your credit card charge as -
'Transaction not authorised by the cardholder' and if it is found that you had
been checked in and travel on the service you had made a reservation for, there
will be a NZ$25.00 fee to process your credit card dispute.

Change/Refund/Cancellation Conditions
-
All refund requests must be
made within 30 days of the scheduled day of departure. Cancellations are
subject to the following refund conditions -
a. Standard
Fare* -
* Reticketing up to time of departure at no
additional charge if seats of the same fare type
available
* Re-issue/s and transfer/s can be made, subject
to availability, prior to time of check in.
* A full refund will be given if cancellation is
advised prior to time of check in
b. Web Fare -
* 50% Cancellation fee will apply if cancellation is advised
prior to time of check in
* Re-issue/s and transfer/s can be made, subject to
availability, prior to time of check in
c. YHA/VIP/NOMAD/Backpackers Fare* -
* YHA/VIP/NOMAD/Backpackers fare is booked on
the same booking conditions as a
Standard Fare.
* Full refund will be given if the cancellation
is advised prior to time of check in.
* Re-issue/s and transfer/s can be made, subject
to availability, prior to time of check in.
d. Senior Citizen Fare* -
* Senior fare is booked on the same booking
conditions as a Standard Fare.
* Full refund will be given if the cancellation
is advised prior to time of check in.
* Re-issue/s and transfer/s can be made, subject
to availability, prior to time of check in.
e. Day Excursion Fares* -
* Reticketing up to time of departure at no additional
charge if transfered to another day
excursion (of same of higher value). Subject to availability.
* Full refund if cancelled before departure of first
service.
* No refund if cancelled after first service has been
travelled.
f. Throughfares* -
* Re-ticketing up to 24 hours of departure at no
additional charge if transfered to another day.
Subject to availability.
* No refund if cancelled after first service has been
travelled.
* An additional Refund Processing Fee of 10-20% will
be charged by Rail New Zealand if a reservation is cancelled after the
'E-Ticket' has been issued.
If you are traveling on
any Tranz Scenic rail service and you live outside New Zealand, it is strongly
recommend that you have the necessary travel insurance to cover any disruption
or cancellation of your travel plans whilist in New Zealand.
Any dispute/s concerning a reservation comes under New Zealand
law and is to be heard in a New Zealand Court of Law.
